Kolhapuri Misal


Misal is an all time favorite dish of indians specially in maharashtra. Since I am from kolhapur and most tasty recipe is kolhapuri misal which is spicy and tasty of all. So lets make it.

Ingrdients:
  • Sprouted mataki -1 cup
  • Sprouted moong - 1/4 cup
  • Boiled potato - 1 
  • Green vatana soaked overnight - 1/4 cup
  • Ginger chopped - 1 inch
  • Garlic cloves - 4-5 
  • Green chilly - 1-2
  • Chopped onion - 1
  • Coriander - handful
  • Grated dry coconut - 1/2 cup
  • Coriander seeds - 2 tsp
  • Tomato chopped - 1
  • Red chilly powder - 2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
For garnishing 
  • Farsan 
  • Coriander
  • Finely chopped onion
  • Lemon
Preparation
  • In a pressure cooker add all sproted matki,moong,vatana to it add turneric and salt and let it cook till 1 whistle
  • In a pan dry roast coconut till brown
  • In the same pan add 2 tsp oil and add onion ,ginger , garlic, green chilly and fry it until golden brown
  • Now add tomato,salt to it and fry for 5 min on low flame
  • Now add coriander seeds, red chilly powder and fry until oil separates 
  • Off the flame and let it cool.
  • In a mixer grinder grind the mixture finely with adding as little as water  you can
  • Now take a pan and 3 tsp oil
  • Add the grinded mixture and saute it.
  • When done add boiled potato and stir it
  • Now add boiled matki mixture it and adjust consistancy by adding hot water to it
  • Let it boil for good 10 min 
  • Adjust salt and you are done

Serving
  • Take a bowl add matki to it add chopped onion,farsan and rassa of misal on it
  • Garnish with coriander and enjoy...
